Serge Rezzi, PhD, is the Director of the Swiss Vitamin Institute (SVI), Switzerland. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Corsica (France) in 2000 and has a scientific background in biology, biochemistry and chemistry. He pursued his scientific education as post-doctoral fellow at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra (Italy) where he specialized in metabolomics research. He then joined Nestlé Research in 2005 where he further specialized in nutritional metabolomics as senior scientist, project manager and group manager.
In 2018, after 13 years in corporate research, he took the lead of SVI, a not for profit organization oriented Nutrition and Health. As head of SVI, he develops analytical services in the field of micronutrients (vitamins) and nutritional status biomarkers, participates in a new ESPEN guideline on micronutrients as an expert, and collaborates in various national and international research programs in the field of nutrition and health. Dr. Rezzi is author of 91 scientific publications, 7 book chapters with 47 h-index and several patents.
