Dr Christina Akre, PhD, Privat-docent

Christina Akre holds a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland). She also trained during 12 months as a research fellow at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (MA, USA). She shares her time between two institutions. The first is the Center for Primary Care and Public Health (Unisante), University of Lausanne, where she is head of the Platform of qualitative research, supervising research and teaching qualitative research in the field of public health and clinical research. The second is the Direction Générale de Santé, Canton of Vaud, where she is director ad interim of community health. Her main fields of expertise are in transition from pediatric to adult care, adolescents with chronic immunity health conditions and their families, sexuality, and substance use among adolescents and young adults.
